about

*BLURB*
Sometime in the very early 2000s, Diaspora performed their last live set of UMMO material on an internet radio stream to a handful of people overseas.
The performance was originally recorded from the desk and uploaded to Soulseek but never officially released.
On rediscovery it is the best recorded encapsulation of the UMMO phase before we moved into our Worlds Without Worlds era.
We've done some minor mastering to make it sound good without compromising the original storm drain aesthetic.

*BIO*
Emerging from their Toowong share-house, Joe Musgrove and Lloyd Barrett produce a minimalist ritual drone music most potent when experience loud, live and on psychoactive drugs. A gradual repetitive process slowly builds a drone that illuminates patterns of mesmerism and transcendence. Isolating the ritual in the religious and resituating it within a tabula rasa, the audience is inspired to find their own space within the sonic mesh. It is music for contemplation, as opposed to partying and was therefore largely inappropriate for the majority of live venues in Brisbane.

*LISTENING NOTES* This has been split into tracks to conform to bandcamp file size restrictions. It is originally designed to be heard as one piece with no gaps at the loudest feasible volume
